EchoLink Connection Planned for the 146.430 Repeater
Posted 16-February-2008
PARA is currently in the process of gathering the necessary equipment for an EchoLink connection on the new W3PHB 2-meter band repeater. EchoLink is a VoIP linking system that allows distant repeaters to connect via the internet. Connecting to EchoLink is as simple as pressing the access code and the node number of the repeater you would like to connect to.
Most of the equipment is already on hand. We will be using a donated computer with the Linux operating system as the linking computer. An ILinkBoards.com AMI-2 interface box was purchased to connect the computer and the linking radio. Mark K3ITG is proving the link radio. Still needed are coax cable and an antenna.
The EchoLink connection will be connected to the new 146.430 repeater in Philipsburg. This link is expected to be operational before April 1, 2008. More information and user instructions will be posted on this web site when appropriate.
