On Saturday May 29, 2010 members of the Philipsburg Amateur Radio Association
provided communications assistance at the 30th Annual Black Moshannon Park -
YMCA 10K and 5K race. The race was held in Black Moshannon State Park and
benefited the Moshannon Valley YMCA in Philipsburg.
Amateur radio communications for the race were once agian organized by Dick Thompson K3BIE. The race went as planned and there were no reported incidents. Dick K3BIE did an excellent job of getting everything organized and coordinating the effort. He deserves a round of applause for his efforts. PARA members who helped with the event included Dick K3BIE, Mark K3ITG, John N3SPW, Bernie W3BAR, and Rich KB3QKR. Helping out from the Nittany Amateur Radio Club was Chuck K3CM. Also assisting was Travis W3TMB. Travis is President of the Bald Eagle Repeater Association in Williamsport.
PARA's ongoing participation with the Black Moshannon Park - YMCA 10K and 5K race is evidance of our commitment to public service and lending a helping hand to the local community.
