It with considerable pride that the Philipsburg Amateur Radio Association announces that Dave Runk AA3EJ has been named as the
PARA Ham of the Year Award for 2013. Dave is one of the founding members of PARA and has been consistently involved in the club
over the years. Over the years he has served as club President, Vice President, Secretary and even edited the PARA News newsletter.
Always willing to pitch in, Dave has helped PARA become what it is today.
We couldn't forget to mention Dave's contribution of time and effort to the now annual participation in the Philipsburg Heritage Days.
It's safe to say that without Dave's efforts this amateur radio public relations effort and PARA's W3P Special Event Station,
wouldn't happen.
Dave has also made himself available in recent years to “Elmer” fellow hams in the art of CW. It's more than knowing the code.
It's a whole new language, complete with its own set of abbreviations and short hand. Dave is seeing to it that fellow PARA
members become good OPS on the CW bands!
Thank you Dave for the contributions you have made to the Philipsburg Amateur Radio Association and to the entire amateur
radio community.
